drifting

In my series drifting I create photographic relics, where I prepare light sensitive paper with water from the Danube river and expose driftwood on it. I am fascinated by the well-travelled wood that was carried and shaped by the movements of the river. Wood that sometimes looks like human bones, has allowed itself to be carried along by the current of the river and has truly ventured to unknown shores. For me it stands for the human being, which is in constant motion in the sense of Heraclitus and "panta rhei" (Greek: everything flows).
In my series I capture the essence of flowing water and its eternal change. - Poetic works that explore the soul of the river, raising questions about human nature and our relationship to constant changes in technology, society and the environment.
